The Auckland Bluegrass and Traditional Old Time Country Music Club was formed in
1982 to Promote Bluegrass and Old Time Country Music.”
The Club was primarily formed to accommodate musicians who played the
instruments and sung songs in the styles associated with the genre.
There has been several venues starting with
NZ railways Corporation Staff Training Centre in 1986
The Railway maintenance workshops social Club on the Railway yards.
The Leys Institute in Ponsonby
Al’s Bar run by Al Hunter in the Astor Hotel at the top of Khyber Pass Rd.
The ARC Social Clubrooms in the ARC Buiding Pitt St
The Bunker in Devonport
Concert at the Maidment Theatre
Xmas Party and Concert at the Mt Eden Primary School
2nd and 4th Wednesday
of the Month except
January, no 4th night
June July august
2nd Wednesday usually
has Club Members in the
first half and often a
Guest in the 2nd half.
4th Wednesday of the
month is Club Members
all night.
Occasionally these are
switched round to suit
